The Story Brief

  1. Tour grade: Small-group Soft-adventure Snorkeling to explore hidden coral spots in South Puu Quoc Island (Max 8-9 PAX)
  2. Tour Date: 2023 April 11
  3. Timeframe: Afternoon (decided by OnBird based on water conditions)
  4. Number of participants: 7 PAX (a Hong Kong couple: Karen, a Poland couple: Kimo, a South Korean couple and 1 Vietnamese girl)
  5. Coral Reefs: Coral Mountain – Coral Hill and North-east Coral Reef (Depth range: 1-10m) (One of the most biodiversity coral reefs in South Phu Quoc)
  6. Underwater visibility: 10 – 12 m (claim: underwater visbility changes daily and monthly)

Karen and Jack are from Hong Kong, they chose Phu Quoc for their vacation in April 2023 (by the end of the Dry season in Phu Quoc Island), they stayed at Mango Bay resort Phu Quoc and decided to join OnBird soft-adventure snorkeling for 2 days in a row after the first day of watching stunning marine life of Phu Quoc in a very ideal water condition.

Karen just completed her AIDA Level 2 certification for free-diving, so she brought to Phu Quoc high expectation of exploring coral reefs here with her newly-learned advanced skills. Karen contacted us few months before her arrival for consulation about water conditions in Phu Quoc. Water conditions which include wave level, wave direction, water current, underwater visibility change daily and hourly playing a vital role in gaining an amazing soft-adventure snorkeling that why OnBird has built our internal data as well as water condition forecasting model to make high accuracy of water conditions.

Luckily, she visited Phu Quoc right in the best date in terms of water condition regardless of little rains early, the underwater visibility was 10-12 m on the date (claim: it is not the same water condition on the same date next years) which just last few days within a single month in Phu Quoc and not many months in whole year that you can see this such ideal visibility in Phu Quoc.

Initially, Karen just wanted to join us on our Discovery South Phu Quoc Island Hidden Coral Spots but after that she felt in love with marine life at the spots we took her to and decided to join us on the same tour for the second day and OnBird decided to do a small gift by taking underwater photos for her.

2 Poland guests are also keen on exploring marine life, they are advanced skill, Mr. Kimo is able to dive down 8-10 meters to see fish and corals, they joined us in discovering giant barrel sponges, sponge tower and anemone gardens.

Excellent trip with two great snorkeling spots, super friendly and knowledgeable guides and they also provided great pictures to have as memory. Great visibility to see some stunning corals and fish as well. Definitely recommend!

Best snorkeling trip I’ve ever been on. My boyfriend and I went snorkeling for 2 days (the first day was great and decided to go with them again). The gear was super hygienic, our guides (Day 1 with Kevin and Calvin, Day 2 with Tuna and Bee) were super friendly and professional and spoke good English.

Unlike other very touristy tours, they will snorkel with us and show us hidden spots of beautiful healthy coral gardens with lots of fish. They even gave very clear instructions on how to avoid damaging the coral.

I did some freediving (7-9m dives in some places) and got really up close and personal with all these beautiful creatures. My boyfriend can’t swim, but swimming is fine. Some coral spots are really shallow, and he also got close to some corals.
