Advantages of Dry Snorkel

  • This snorkel is the best choice if you want a quality, well designed product that has all the features that make you happy
  • Don’t worry about the entry of water: choose an easy-to-use dry snorkel and enjoy your diving
  • It features a float mechanism that closes instantly to prevent water from entering the snorkel whether accidentally or purposely submerged
  • At the end of the tube, there is a small reservoir that collects water, which is very easy to expel thanks to the purge valve, simply by blowing without effort
  • The quick-release keeper allows you to join easily the snorkel to the mask strap with a simple click Push the button to unjoin the snorkel from the mask without removing the keeper from the mask strap
  • A wider elliptical bore shape increases airflow capacity for more comfortable breathing and a purge valve enables instant clearing when needed

Disadvantages of Dry Snorkel

  • Due to it’s high buoyant design, it is more hassle to dive down to 5 – 7m with this snorkel rather than semi-dry snorkel
  • The top valve may close spontaneously if it is not adequately maintained over time, potentially leaving a snorkeler short on air. This situation requires prompt attention to ensure safety by experienced guide.

Next post let join OnBird in learning about semi-dry snorkel, the best choice for professional divers, snorkelers.

How OnBird Maintain and Keep Our Equipment Highest Hygienic Standard

How can OnBird ensure that our equipment is thoroughly sanitized and cleaned before each snorkeling expedition?

  • Immerse the diving mask and snorkel equipment in a concentrated soapy solution overnight, allowing it to soak for approximately 3 to 8 hours.
  • Next, submerge the equipment in freshwater for 30 minutes to effectively rinse away any soap residue.
  • Subsequently, place the snorkel in hot freshwater for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Thoroughly clean the snorkel mouthpiece with a high-pressure water faucet, ensuring it is free of debris.
  • Rinse the snorkel again in freshwater for 2 minutes to remove any remaining contaminants.
  • Finally, hang the equipment in sunlight to air dry.
  • Once dried, gather the snorkels from the previous day, organize them in a box for guests, and deliver them to the designated guides.
