OnBird would like to clarify more about our Emergency Plan for the Coral Jungle Reef tour for those who are wondering if it is safe to explore the completely Coral Jungle Reef-like open waters in Phu Quoc.

 

Safety Distances At The Reef

The Coral Jungle Reef is one of the largest coral reefs in Phu Quoc, characterized as a typical fringing reef with a radius of 50 to 70 meters, adjacent to Hawksbill Island, also known as Robinson Island. The depth ranges from 0.3 to 6 meters within a 50-meter radius from the island, providing a safe environment for exploration, barring adverse weather conditions.

Where We Can Do CPR In An Event of Emergency?

In response to emergency cases, Onbird’s underwater instructor will guide and take you landing on the beach nearby or the speedboat subject to the situation, a CPR will be provided. The beach on the island provide an ideal flat area for CPR or the boat which is 60 – 100m away from guests with guides, instructor’s support.

 

Is The Speedboat Far From You While You Are In The Water?

To ensure the safety of both the reef and our guests, OnBird prohibits our boat from docking at the island, which is surrounded by a reef which is pretty shallow. Instead, we maintain a distance of 100 meters for a prompt response in the event of an emergency.

How Fast We Can Reach Out The Nearest Medical Facility

OnBird arrange emergency car awaiting at a beach which is 1,2 km away from the reef that we can reach out within 5 minutes by speedboat.

There is an International Hospital 1 Km away from Emergency Van’s designated location which is qualified for some serious cases.
