Due to the problem of overfishing and the declining number of fish in Phu Quoc’s sea, OnBird Phu Quoc has decided to stop organizing deep-sea fishing tours since late 2023. This decision is in line with our commitment to protect the marine life of Phu Quoc. We want to ensure that the fish population in the area is conserved and not further depleted. As a result, we will no longer be offering deep-sea fishing tours to our customers.

TOUR INTRODUCTION

Phu Quoc “Deep-sea Bottom Fishing” is an adventurous experience for those who are keen on real fishing. On this dedicated charter fishing with OnBird, you’ll get fabulous experiences of deep-sea fishing in the waters of the An Thoi archipelago.

Our wooden fishing boat is equipped with GPS Sonar, so guests can join us in both Night-time and Day-time fishing. However, we will advise you on the sea conditions which might be better each day.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

1️⃣ Fishing Target: 

These are entirely different from your routine shallow-water fish. We are talking big game fish – Barracuda, Grouper, Queen Fish, Giant Trevally, Cobia, Spadefish…to name a few. You usually will not find these types of sports fish closer to shore, as they need open and deeper waters to feed. Vacationing swimmers and sun-seekers are grateful for that.  You then enjoy your self-caught lunch or dinner.

2️⃣ Fishing method & Techniques:

In 8 hours of dedicated deep-sea fishing, the fishing methods here are bottom fishing-anchored and live bit with some techniques such as bottom fishing and jigging. Traditional Reels or Rods are provided at your request. Specially equipped boat for deep sea fishing which includes the art fish finder GPS, a full-covered deck to protect you from direct sunlight, toilet on the boat, and as such you have a higher rate of catching big fish.

3️⃣ Timing: Either day or nighttime

The best season for deep-sea fishing in Phu Quoc is the DRY Season which starts from October till early May, sometime in the Rainy season.
The Phu Quoc Deep-sea Bottom Fishing Charter takes place on a wooden fishing boat that is equipped with GPS Sonar guests can join both Night-time or Daytime fishing.

                For daytime fishing: could visit a snorkeling spot if having enough time left
