INTRODUCTION
Following a month-long heat wave from mid-May to mid-June 2024, like many coral reefs around the world, some coral reefs in Phu Quoc suffered severe bleaching (read more), resulting in the loss of 80-90% of their healthy coral areas — a significant ecological loss. OnBird, an organization specializing in marine life exploration experiences, recognizes the vital role coral reefs play in both the underwater ecosystem and tourism. In response, OnBird has initiated coral planting technique aimed at restoring natural reefs while promoting ecotourism. Our goal is to raise awareness and contribute to coral conservation efforts in Phu Quoc. With the development of an environmentally friendly coral planting method that has demonstrated effectiveness through testing, OnBird invites participants to participate in planting corals back into the ocean.
We aim to plant at least 30 – 40 corals onto bio-rock per trip.

WHAT SETS THE ONBIRD SOFT-ADVENTURE SNORKELING APART?
- Professional and Scientific Snorkeling conducted by a licensed operator, ensuring stringent safety protocols and effective risk management.
- Water conditions forecasting: encompassing wave level, wave direction, water current, underwater visibility, and geographical locations, is carefully considered to enhance the snorkeling experience. Additionally, lighting effects are factored in to further optimize the overall experience.
- Departure times are subject to daily water conditions to optimize the snorkeling experience during the most favorable water conditions of the day.

THE “REEF BUILDER” HIGHLIGHTS
- During one month from 2024 mid-May to mid-June, Coral Jungle Reef which is the healthiest coral reefs of Phu Quoc suffer a serious reduction in coral population after a serious coral bleaching happened, now we restore the reefs based on the existing coral species and knowledge we learnt about the reef before that
- Limited group with 9 – 10 PAX at maximum
- Accommodate individuals of varying skill levels: ranging from novices and advanced participants to scuba divers and free divers
- Proficient English-speaking underwater instructors possessing extensive training and an in-depth knowledge of the coral reef.

- Non-swimming kids under 12 y.o. & seniors above 65 y.o should not join
- Optimal timing for an in-depth snorkeling and relaxation experience: with efficient transfers via car and speedboat to minimize travel duration and mitigate seasickness.
- For the preservation of the environment and marine life, the use of traditional fishing reels and fish feeding is prohibited on OnBird snorkeling excursions. (Reasons for refraining from fish feeding)
