WARNING: Water condition in the area of Turtle Island are extremely complicated, so you can’t always come here safely if you don’t have a proper understanding of this area. As well as self-arranged tours by local fishermen and unlicensed operators can lead to damage to our nature. Due to the change of tide level daily which can lead to exceptionally low water level the surround the Turtle Island, which can get people to stuck on this island or get cut by sharpen rocks and corals. If you dont have a proper understanding about this area, dont take risks. Located on the Northwest of Phu Quoc Island (10°19’20.7’’ North latitude, 103°50’26.7’’ East longitude;  almost 1km away from the beach in the front of Phu Quoc casino – Corona
–  Turtle islet is one of the smallest islet among 21 islands around Phu Quoc
– The name’s origin of Turtle Island (Đồi Mồi) derived from its appearances of the Hawksbill Sea Turtle (Đồi Mồi or Vích in indigenous names) in the past but at present very rare to see their appearances again.
The hawksbill’s appearance is similar to that of other marine turtles. In general, it has a flattened body shape, a protective carapace, and flipper-like limbs, adapted for swimming in the open ocean.

Water Condition in Phu Quoc Island

To reach the island you need to take a wooden boat from Bach Dang harbor in Duong Town, it will take about more than 1.5 hour from Duong Dong to Turtle (Doi Moi) Island.
In the North of Phu Quoc, you might find out some local people who don’t mind taking you to the island by small boat but please bear in mind that you will put yourself into danger in that case.

JOIN Soft-adventure Snorkeling to explore Coral Reefs in North PHU QUOC

OnBird Phu Quoc (which is a licensed operator based in Phu Quoc Island) is proud to be the industry pioneer to introduce a new term “scientific snorkeling” to snorkelers, divers when visiting to Phu Quoc Island and decide to gain a real snorkeling experience. We take external factors (including water conditions, lighting affect) into account to find out in the best timeframe in terms of water conditions, lighting affect for the snorkeling experience as well as to open our chance to visit the best spots in Phu Quoc Island.
The trip (minimum 4 adults and maximum 8 adults and no under-12-year-old kid) is for those who would like to explore the healthiest coral reefs of Phu Quoc Island, a decent coral reef. This soft-adventure snorkeling excursion to go searching for the peaceful atmosphere of old Phu Quoc where we find old part of Phu Quoc Island on a touristy-avoiding route and explore the Coral Jungle Reef which is the heathiest coral reef with the highest coverage of coral (around 82.5%) across Phu Quoc Island and whole Vietnam.
