FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Why does the OnBird Discovery Snorkeling Tour cost more than other Phu Quoc snorkeling tours?
The difference lies in quality, safety, and sustainability. OnBird limits each Phu Quoc snorkeling tour to just 9–10 guests, compared to standard tours that often pack 20–30 people on one boat. Smaller groups mean:
More personalized attention from professional snorkeling & diving instructors.
More privacy and comfort, ideal for couples, families, and small groups.
More time in the water exploring the richest coral zones without feeling rushed.
This small-group approach also helps protect fragile coral reefs by reducing human impact, reflecting our commitment to sustainable tourism and reef conservation in Phu Quoc.
OnBird also invests heavily in open-water safety management. Our proprietary forecasting system monitors waves, currents, tide levels, and underwater visibility up to 8–12 days in advance. This allows us to adjust departure times daily, ensuring guests always experience the clearest waters and safest snorkeling conditions in Phu Quoc.
OnBird is proud to be the first operator in Vietnam to offer daily water condition–adjusted snorkeling tours, combining precision, safety, and exceptional guest experiences. This pioneering approach sets a new benchmark for snorkeling in Vietnam and gives travelers peace of mind when booking a Phu Quoc snorkeling tour with us. We also provide premium snorkeling gear – anti-fog masks, semi-dry snorkels, open-heel fins, flotation devices, and prescription masks for near-sighted guests. Every piece is sanitized thoroughly between uses. Combined with access to hidden coral reefs and less-crowded snorkeling sites in Phu Quoc, this creates a truly unique, premium experience that justifies the price.
Unlike other tours, OnBird does not include hidden fees or push optional upsells (like pearl farms or sea walking). Transparency and authenticity are at the heart of our pricing.
2. Who is this Phu Quoc snorkeling tour perfect for?
This soft-adventure journey is designed for all levels of travelers, from beginners to advanced snorkelers and divers. It’s ideal for:
Nature lovers & ocean enthusiasts looking for an authentic, non-commercial snorkeling tour in Phu Quoc.
Families with children (ages 4+) who want a safe, educational marine experience.
Couples and small groups seeking privacy, intimacy, and crowd-free Phu Quoc beaches.
Eco-conscious travelers who value sustainable travel and reef conservation.
Non-swimmers & beginners, thanks to small groups, high guide-to-guest ratios, and expert in-water guidance.
Near-sighted guests, supported with prescription snorkeling masks (–2 to –10).
Travelers seeking value, who understand that a truly memorable snorkeling experience comes from planning, safety, and expertise rather than cutting corners.
3. Why isn’t lunch included in the tour package?
We carefully designed this half-day snorkeling in Phu Quoc experience for both guest comfort and coral reef protection. A cooked lunch on small islands often results in wastewater discharge that can harm fragile reef ecosystems. Instead, OnBird provides light, eco-friendly refreshments including fresh tropical fruit, juice, and snacks – enough to keep guests energized without affecting the marine environment.
Another reason is time efficiency. By skipping a sit-down meal, we maximize time spent snorkeling and exploring the reef under the best water conditions of the day.
Guests who prefer a full meal can request optional arrangements, but we encourage the no-lunch option to minimize environmental impact.
4. Can I combine this snorkeling tour with the Phu Quoc cable car ride in one day?
While technically possible, OnBird does not recommend combining too many activities in one day. The Phu Quoc cable car ticket also includes entry to the theme park and water park, which requires several hours to fully enjoy. Trying to combine this with snorkeling often leads to a rushed, tiring experience.
For the best experience, we suggest planning snorkeling in Phu Quoc on one day and enjoying the Phu Quoc cable car & Hon Thom theme park on another day.
However, if you still wish to combine, OnBird offers pick-up and drop-off at Hon Thom cable car station, making it convenient for guests staying in Sunset Town or nearby resorts. This way, you can enjoy both experiences without booking an extra tour package.
