SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS TOUR
1. What justifies the higher pricing of the OnBird Discovery island hopping tour compared to standard tours offered by other providers
OnBird keeps our tour group sizes small—no more than 10 – 12 guests—to ensure a personalized, attentive experience both above and below the water. This approach not only enhances your comfort and safety but also minimizes impact on the marine environment, supporting our coral conservation efforts.
At OnBird, transparency is at the heart of our pricing.
We do not include hidden fees or push optional activities like sea walking or pearl farm visits as commission-driven upsells. Instead, we focus on delivering an authentic, unpressured experience—so you can fully enjoy your journey without unexpected costs or sales tactics.
- Our intentionally small group sizes create a more enriching and immersive experience.
With the highest guide-to-guest ratio in the region, our dedicated snorkeling & diving instructor (not regular tour guide) provide personalized attention and expert insights into the reef ecosystem. This allows for better observation opportunities and a deeper understanding of the extraordinary marine life—details that are often overlooked on standard tours.
OnBird’s open-water safety management system sets a new standard for snorkeling in Vietnam.
Our proprietary system continuously monitors sea conditions to identify the optimal snorkeling windows and coral sites in South Phu Quoc. This dynamic approach allows us to adapt each tour in real time—ensuring not only the clearest waters and richest marine life, but also the highest levels of safety and comfort.
OnBird is proud to be the first operator in Vietnam to offer daily water condition–adjusted snorkeling tours, combining precision, safety, and an exceptional guest experience.
- Highest-quality snorkeling equipment
At OnBird, we provide high-quality snorkeling equipment tailored for guests of all ages, starting from 4 years old. Our gear includes anti-fog snorkeling masks, semi-dry and dry snorkels, open-heel fins, and prescription masks with customized lenses ranging from -2 to -10 for near-sighted guests. Every piece of equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each tour, ensuring your safety, comfort, and enjoyment throughout the experience.
- OnBird’s tours goes further for hidden reefs, less-crowded coral reefs & islands
OnBird tours are thoughtfully designed to take you beyond the usual routes—into hidden or lesser-visited coral reefs.
These pristine locations offer a more exclusive and rewarding snorkeling experience. While operating costs are higher for accessing these remote sites, the result is a more intimate, unspoiled, and truly memorable journey beneath the surface.
3. Why Lunch Isn’t Included—and Why That Matters
This snorkeling experience is thoughtfully designed with both guest comfort and marine conservation in mind. A full cooked lunch is not necessary for this half-day tour, and here’s why:
Protecting Marine Life:
We do not recommend having cooked meals on small islands in South Phu Quoc, as they often result in wastewater discharge that can harm the delicate coral reef ecosystems. To minimize our environmental footprint, we provide light refreshments, including fresh fruit, juice, and snacks—sufficient to keep you energized without negatively impacting the marine environment.
Time Efficiency for a Better Experience:
By skipping a sit-down lunch, we allocate more time for what matters most—touristy-avoiding island hopping & snorkeling and discovering pristine coral reefs in optimal conditions.
Sustainable Dining Options:
For guests who prefer a meal, OnBird offers optional low-reef-impact meal & snorkeling arrangements. However, we encourage choosing the no-on-island-meal option to further support reef preservation efforts.
Flexible Departure Times Based on Water Conditions:
Our tour does not follow a fixed departure schedule. Instead, we adjust the timing daily based on real-time sea condition forecasts to ensure the best island hopping & snorkeling experience. This makes conventional lunch scheduling impractical, and our focus remains on delivering the most vibrant and eco-responsible coral discovery tour possible.
3. This tour is perfect for:
Nature lovers and ocean enthusiasts seeking an authentic, non-commercial island hopping & safe snorkeling experience.
Families with children (ages 4 and up) who want a safe and educational marine adventure.
Couples and small groups looking for a more intimate and personalized island hopping tour in Phu Quoc away from crowded sites.
Eco-conscious travelers who value responsible tourism and reef conservation.
Beginner to intermediate snorkelers who will benefit from our small group sizes, high guide-to-guest ratio, and professional guidance.
Guests with near-sightedness, thanks to our availability of prescription snorkeling masks.
- Travelers who seek high value/reasonable price — not just low value/low prices
Perfect for those who understand that quality experiences come from thoughtful planning, safety, and expert guidance—not from cutting corners.
