First charter flight to Phu Quoc carrying 250 Korean visitors on 20th November

VietJet Air has sent proposal to fly 250 Korean passengers from Incheon to Phu Quoc from 20 November to 23 November, 2021.

If the proposal is approved by the Kien Giang provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism for approval, this flight VJ 3749 will be the first charter flight carrying international tourists to Vietnam in the pilot program of reopening Vietnam.

VietJet Air said all the Korean visitors have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and they are set to stay at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc.

Visitors will all be required to install the IGOVN and PC-COVID mobile apps on their phones and use them throughout their stay in Phu Quoc.

 

Some of the tourist attractions set to open include VinWonder Amusement Park, Safari, and GrandWorld.

According to Pham Van Nghiep, vice chairman of the Phu Quoc Island District, the locality has prepared a range of plans regarding pandemic safety in order to welcome back visitors through the vaccine passport programme.

At least 90% of the population and workers in Phu Quoc must be fully vaccinated in order to be ready to welcome the return of international guests in the future.The return of international tourists will serve to help the local tourism industry rebound following a long period of being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Phu Quoc Airport gets global Covid health accreditation, set for tourism reopening

Phu Quoc Airport in Kien Giang Province has received international health accreditation for its safety measures against Covid-19 as it prepares to welcome back foreign tourists this month.Phu Quoc got the greenlight from the government to allow fully immunized tourists from Europe, the U.S., Northeast Asia, Australia, and the Middle East under a two-phase vaccine passport trial program scheduled to start on November 20. All its staff are fully vaccinated.

Nguyen Minh Dong, director of the airport, told Lao Dong newspaper some airlines want to resume commercial flights to Phu Quoc from South Korea (Incheon), Japan (Narita), Singapore, and Thailand (Bangkok) in the next two months.

Vietnam’s largest island gained global fame after the government allowed 30-day visa-free entry starting in 2014. In 2019, Phu Quoc received over five million visitors, including 541,600 foreigners.
